Almost none of them even knew what a Leslie was. Older couples that bought those home organs typically NEVER had one before and really didn't know the difference. I never thought those little internal Leslies sounded very good, but I can understand why the organ companies did it. A lot of people just didn't have the room in their house for an organ AND a Leslie. Houses were so much smaller in that time period than some of the monster homes you see today, especially in the eastern US. One thing you got to keep in mind, that couples that were in retirement during that time period probably had a house that was built in the first part of the 20th century. Yep, that was the trend in the sixties, install a small leslie in that home organ and the older couple that has the $$ to buy an organ might spring for it.
